Description

Zeiss IOL Master 500 Optical Biometer is the gold standard in optical biometry with more than 100 million successful IOL power calculations to date. This fast and easy-to-use device provides refractive outcomes you can trust, advanced measurement of challenging eyes, and precise, efficient markerless toric IOL alignment.

The Zeiss IOL Master 500 is a groundbreaking optical biometer, offering reliable and fast measurements for precise refractive outcomes and enhanced surgical success. Featuring distance-independent keratometry and over 300 optimized lens constants, it ensures robust and repeatable measurements. Its intuitive user interface and integrated plausibility checks streamline the process, while Dual Mode functionality minimizes chair time. With a cataract penetration rate exceeding 93%, it excels even in challenging cases. Plus, seamless connectivity to ultrasound devices enhances diagnostic capabilities.

With the Zeiss IOLMaster 500, doctors have at their disposal a reliable, fast, and easy-to-use optical biometer, providing measurements they can rely on. Refractive outcomes are accurate and dependable, thanks to distance-independent keratometry, ensuring robust and repeatable measurements. Additionally, the device offers over 300 optimized lens constants, contributing to reliable refractive results.

The user interface of the IOLMaster 500 is well-designed, making the device easy to use. Moreover, integrated plausibility checks help ensure measurement accuracy. With a measurement time of less than 60 seconds for both eyes, the process is quick and efficient, allowing doctors to optimize time during consultations.

The ZEISS IOL Master 500 is capable of performing measurements even in challenging eye cases. With a cataract penetration rate of over 93%, the device allows precise measurement in cases of staphyloma, pseudophakic and silicone-filled eyes, as well as post-LVC surgical formulations.

Furthermore, the device offers precise and efficient markerless alignment of toric intraocular lenses without the need for manual marking. Integrated into the Zeiss Cataract Suite, the marking process is automated, eliminating manual steps and making the process more precise and efficient.

The Zeiss IOL Master stands out as the sole optical biometer featuring distance-independent telecentric keratometry. This innovation ensures robust and repeatable measurements, displaying excellent agreement with manual keratometry while achieving even higher precision. This advancement in technology not only enhances accuracy but also provides clinicians with reliable data for informed decision-making.

Its user interface is meticulously designed to set new standards in biometry simplicity. By eliminating common sources of error, such as misinterpretation, the device employs an easy-to-understand traffic light indicator system. This intuitive design streamlines the measurement process, reducing the likelihood of errors and increasing overall efficiency.

Integrated plausibility checks further enhance confidence in the obtained measurements, especially in challenging cases. With an automatic mode that compares and verifies axial length and corneal radii values between the right and left eyes, clinicians can proceed with greater assurance in their diagnostic and treatment plans.

The Zeiss IOLMaster 500 streamlines workflow with its Dual Mode functionality, allowing for the simultaneous measurement of axial length and keratometry without requiring manual intervention. This feature minimizes chair time, optimizing patient throughput and overall clinic efficiency.

In terms of speed, the Zeiss IOLMaster 500 significantly outperforms other optical devices, with readings taking up to four times less time on average. With the ability to measure both eyes in under 60 seconds, clinicians can efficiently manage their schedules while delivering timely care to patients.

Zeiss IOL Master 500 Features

High Speed Biometry

Minimize acquisition and chair time by performing accurate measurements quickly. In the Dual Mode, axial length and keratometry are captured in one measurement. Changeover between modes is completely automated and does not require any user interaction. The average time needed to take a reading on the IOLMaster 500 is up to 4 times faster compared to other optical devices.

Excellent Cataract Penetration

The IOLMaster 500 achieves a measurement success ratio that is up to 20 percent higher than that of other optical biometry devices. The underlying Composite Signal evaluation not only significantly increases the fraction of cataracts measurable with optical technology, it also greatly increases signal-to-noise values – a measure of the outstanding reliability of the data the IOLMaster 500 provides.

Ease of use

A well-designed user interface, plausibility checks, distance-independent measurements and an up to 4 times faster reading compared to other optical devices lead to a one-of-a-kind usability and reduced chairtime. A difference you, your team and your patients will notice every day.

Proven toric outcomes

The results of a meta-analysis of 28 published clinical papers covering more than 1900 cases show that the reported clinical outcomes for the ZEISS IOLMaster with regard to residual astigmatism exceed, or are at least as good as those using manual or automated keratometry.

Advanced measurement of challenging eyes

The true test of a biometer is its performance with challenging eyes. In denser cataracts, the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 achieves a measurement success ratio that is up to 20% higher than that of other optical biometry devices.3 Even with staphyloma, pseudophakic and silicone-filled eyes, the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 measures along the visual axis, yielding the relevant axial distance. And with its Haigis-L formula on board the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 is dedicated to myopic and hyperopic post-LVC cases.

Markerless toric IOL alignment

The Option Reference Image is the starting point of a markerless toric IOL workflow. An image of the eye is taken along with the keratometry measurement. Both reference images and keratometry data are transferred to the ZEISS CALLISTO eye® computer-assisted surgery system. Finally, all data needed for precise5 and markerless toric IOL alignment is injected into the eyepiece of the surgical microscope from ZEISS.

Optimize refractive outcomes

Any intraocular lens calculation is only as reliable as the lens constant it is based on. More than 40,000 sets of patient data created with the ZEISS IOLMaster are the basis of more than 200 optimized lens constants in the User Group for Laser Interference Biometry (ULIB) website – absolutely unique in the industry.1 Together with its one-of-a-kind distance independent telecentric keratometry and the exclusively integrated Holladay 2 formula, the gold standard in optical biometry helps you optimize your refractive outcomes.
